Alpine Night in Gstaad

The sublime beauty of the Swiss Alps was never more so than the night of the Raclette dinner in a "refuge" on the mountain tops above Rougemont.

Climbing up on "raquettes" for the brave or through a snow tunnel for the wise, the celebratory glass of champagne upon arrival was most welcome. Within the rustic building waited friends, family and a delightful dinner of traditional raclette with all the requisite trimmings.

After catching up on all the news and enjoying the dinner, the famous Rosey polar bear was won, most fittingly, by Evelyne Petene and then auctioned back as is customary with a winning bid of CHF1'800. Tombola winners cheered with delight as their tickets were drawn and the beautiful prizes handed out. The Rosey student speakers spoke eloquently of their projects this year to rousing applause.

The finale of the evening was music and dancing before buses took us all back down the starlit mountains to rest before the next activities that included the ski dinner at the Palace.
